As she breaks a global record, Nigerian woman Helen
Williams steals the show. The longest handcrafted wig in history, manufactured
by Helen Williams, was revealed to have set a new record on Monday when the
Guinness Book of World Records revealed that she had also made the widest wig
ever, an astounding feat. She has succeeded famed cook Hilda Baci as the latest
Guinness World Record holder from Nigeria.

According to
the Guinness
Book of World Records, Helen Williams who hails from Nigeria crafted a
hairpiece that`s 3.65 m (11 ft 11 in) wide and trails to the floor. This
according to the organization is comparable to a Mini Cooper which is 3.63 m
(11 ft 10 in) long.

The
31-year-old took a month to finish the hair, starting work on it in February.
The wig was made from over 800 bundles of auburn hair, and Helen had to pay
4,138,200 Naira ($2,719; £2,150) for the materials.

That
record was also broken by the most recent record breaker, who currently has 90
hair clips in a wig in 30 seconds. "I`m really pleased with myself. I own
three records currently," she declared.

creator. I like taking on challenging projects because they help me grow as a

mostly by hand, Helen relied on the use of needle and thread as she pieced
everything together on the framework and embellished it with more than a
thousand rhinestones.

She
noted that her inspiration for making the hair was the American actress Drew
Barrymore, “I am a big fan of Drew Barrymore, she also inspired me,” Helen
said.
